"If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking."James 1:5 (NLT)
Why do we forget to act like children sometimes? It seems that as we get older we lose our sense of adventure, we grow into adult creatures who never stop and think about what it was like to think like a kid, and be super excited to be living: to run and explore, playing hide & seek, recess, art class, riding bikes, AOL instant messenger & cartoons on a Saturday morning with a giant bowl of cereal, I could go on…. Maybe it’s because as we grow older we lose our childlike innocence through the pains of life and through our experiences.
Take a moment and just pause, ask God to reveal Childlike memories for you!
I love todays verse that James is encouraging us to ask our Heavenly Father who loves us deeply for the answers we are seeking. Can you remember being a kid and asking your parents questions, the innocence of deeply burning questions that filed your head as you experienced daily life which felt new everyday?
Maybe you didn’t have parents to ask questions to, or maybe you forgot what it was like to ask your parents questions. Either way, as we get older and more self-reliant we forget that its ok to ask for help! Sometimes that self pride leads to internal judgment that causes us to shy away from asking our Heavenly Father, the creator of the universe for help!
God isn’t looking to judge you for the answers you seek, in fact, he wants you to seek him out with childlike faith so that He can reveal to you the desires he has for you.
